Kicking Off Christmas
It's already the middle of November and that means that the holiday consumer buying season is in full swing. Halloween items have been placed on clearance racks and before anyone can say "Thanksgiving," the Christmas items have stocked the shelves and holiday music is being pumped over store loudspeakers. It seems like eons ago we were getting our first glimpses of 2011 holiday styles at the winter markets and now we will finally see what the end-consumer is really looking for this year. This issue of SCDirect recalls some of the most popular animal-themed seasonal designs from the winter markets. Vendors enjoyed strong sales of these "creature comforts" and retailers will be hoping that these designs will have an "animal magnetism" to their customers.
